BRACK: Vote “No!” on one of three amendments on this year’s ballot

By Elliott Brack  |  Man alive! Do the people of Georgia face a lulu of a constitutional amendment this year?  The amendment should embarrass the Georgia Legislature. It asks Georgia voters to compel the Legislature to do what it ought to be doing in the first place.  Ha!

BRACK: Solve Gwinnett traffic problems by approving referendum

By Elliott Brack  |  On May 9, 1977, I was attending a high-tech seminar in Boston, Mass.  About 2 p.m. sitting in class on a Wednesday, it started snowing.  Almost immediately the snow intensified. By 3:30, officials halted the class, saying we would resume the next morning. We returned to our hotel.

It’s 60 years old, and has been on every office wall I have had all these journalistic years. There’s a story that goes with it about the way governmental bureaucrats anywhere get around regulations.

BRACK: Athens professor has forward thinking ideas in Senate race

By Elliott Brack  |  The 2020 election will be unusual, in that Georgians will vote for two U.S. Senators in November. Incumbent David Perdue is running for another six year term, opposed by Democrat John Ossoff. In a distinctive second U.S. Senate race this year, there will be 21 people battling in a “jungle election” to see who will fill the remaining two years  of Sen. Johnny Isakson’s term. That means that the winner will probably immediately be running for a full six year term in 2022.
