BRACK: Tell your legislator to vote against sports gambling

By Elliott Brack  |  One topic is up front today from disparate elements: the National Football League and the Georgia Legislature: gambling. Here before Super Bowl Sunday, does it appear to you that the National Football League wants to have its cake, and eat it, too?

BRACK: Casino gambling in Georgia will harm local entertainment venues

JUNE 15, 2018  |  When Justin Timberlake played the Infinite Energy Arena on May 11, there was a record attendance, along with record gate receipts, as more than 12,149 people were in attendance, paying $2.2 million for tickets for the performance. A few days later, the U2 tour would break the Arena’s attendance and gate receipts records again.

Ever wonder how that money pile from these performers is split up? You may not realize this, but the performer gets it all.

BRACK: Gambling, medical marijuana and two movies for you to enjoy

By Elliott Brack, editor and publisher | Two groups which we oppose have made surprising progress this year. We refer to those wanting the Georgia Legislature to approve gambling and medical marijuana in Georgia. We don’t think these are good ideas.

These groups have insidiously made their way into the minds of many people extolling the virtues of casino gambling and introducing emotion on the medical use of marijuana. They even want horse racing and pot growing in Georgia.

BRACK: We agree with Nathan Deal: We don’t need more gambling here

By Elliott Brack, editor and publisher | For years now, the gambling business has had its eye on Georgia. It recognizes Georgia as a state with a growing population, and therefore, one they see as a target. They aim at establishing gambling in Georgia, to enrich, of course, their own coffers, while promoting that it will bring in more state revenue.
