NEWS BRIEFS: Gwinnett Chamber inks pact with Pan Asian American group

 The Gwinnett Chamber and Partnership Gwinnett signed its sixth memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a local Asian American-focused chamber of commerce. This pact was signed with the U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce, Southeast Region, recognizing the intent of these organizations to collaborate, champion, and drive global business in both the region and abroad.

NEWS BRIEFS: Community recycling will be Feb. 11 at Gwinnett Fairgrounds

A community recycling event will be held on Saturday, February 11 at Gwinnett County Fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., hosted by Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful (GC&B) and its partner, the Department of Water Resources.  The event will provide a FREE opportunity for its neighbors throughout the county to drop off household hazardous waste for recycling or proper disposal.

By Michelle Alcorn | Rainbow Village of Duluth will benefit from Ordner Construction Company’s 11th annual Run 4A Reason 5K. Deemed an official AJC Peachtree Road Race qualifying event, the run/walk fundraiser will be organized into eight different age groups.

By Melanie Conner |  As the children of Rainbow Village prepare for their “back-to-school” return, I am reminded of countless school years from my own childhood. I fondly remember the classes and teachers that I loved, as well as those courses I did not love. I recall thinking “when on Earth will I ever need to use algebra or geometry in real life?”

NEWS BRIEFS: Free household hazardous waste day coming up on Feb. 12

With “Decluttering” and “Getting Organized” topping the lists of many Gwinnett County residents’ New Year resolutions, Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful and Gwinnett Water Resources have an event in store that will help them do just that. On Saturday, February 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., cars will line up in the sprawling parking lot at Gwinnett County Fairgrounds to rid their homes of household hazardous waste, that is, products like pesticides, antifreeze, spray paint, auto batteries and more.
