BRACK: 41st President George H.W. Bush led a distinguished and storied life

By Elliott Brack  |  It was a memorable day for Gwinnett County, October 20, 1992. The president of the United States made a special train stop in Norcross. Not only do I remember it well, but I was there. I found my story of that visit in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on the Internet.

BRACK: What happens when a film crew wants your house

By Elliott Brack, editor and publisher | With Georgia being discovered these days for filming movies and television series, who knows? A location scout could knock on your door! Your home could be in demand for filming. Recently a crew from the Oprah Television series, Greenleaf, was filming in Norcross, right next door to our home.

The filming was at the home of Bonnie and Ben Sloan, with the home picked because of its modern appearance. Ben said: “It looked like a modern contemporary home that fit the screen character of one of the young single guys in the series.”

BRACK: Gwinnett to lose its most senior government official soon

By Elliott Brack, editor and publisher | Gwinnett will soon lose its highest ranking Federal official, as Judge William C. O’Kelley and his wife are moving their residence from Norcross to their farm in Murrayville, in Hall County. Actually, Judge O’Kelley is the highest Federal official in Georgia, and possibly the Southeast.

BRACK: Dangerous Holcomb Bridge rail crossing may get relief via Internet

By Elliott Brack, editor and publisher | The City of Norcross may get a gift from Google next year. It won’t be something to unwrap, but it could help solve a major problem in the city.

You see, the most dangerous railroad crossing in Gwinnett is in the middle of Norcross, the Holcomb Bridge Road crossing of the Norfolk-Southern rail tracks. The big problem is that the roadbed takes a big dip downward on the westward side.
