By Randy Brunson  |  In late 1965, The Byrds released Pete Seeger’s “Turn, Turn, Turn,” a peace anthem taken almost exclusively from the third chapter of Ecclesiastes. The overarching theme of these eight verses is seasons, with the author describing a time for every season and purpose under heaven.

Taxes on cash flow, such as on earned income, unearned income, and capital gains; taxes on real and personal property; and purchase taxes, such as sales and VAT taxes. Local and state jurisdictions have a variety of other taxes and user fees, depending on their perceived need, their various agendas, and what they think they can get away with.

By Randy Brunson |  On my desk is a chart with S&P 500 data going back to 1929, almost 100 years. What does it show? The number of new highs set by the S&P 500 each year, over that time period. It’s fascinating for those of us who study trends.
