BRACK: A cheer for Senator Dixon for proposing higher chair’s salary

By Elliott Brack  |  Let’s hear a brisk “Hurrah” to Republican Senator Clint Dixon of Buford. Recently he announced that he would seek legislation to increase the salary of the Gwinnett County Commission chairman.   The position of chair of the County Commission is the lowest in the five-county metro Atlanta area, being paid $86,920 annually.

By Elliott Brack  | Here’s what we’ll predict: if the political polls are as accurate as the pollsters hope they will be in the 2018 election, politics in Georgia won’t be over today. We predict we’ll have a runoff in the governor’s race, and at least two other statewide races.

BRACK: May Gwinnettians have big turnout in the runoff election on Tuesday

By Elliott Brack | Next Tuesday, July 24, Gwinnett and Georgia voters will return to the polls for runoff primaries of the two major political parties and in non-partisan races. Runoffs are required under current voting rules when no candidate wins 50 percent of the vote, plus one, that is, a majority of the votes cast.

We urge Gwinnett residents, if you have not early voted, to return to the polls on Tuesday and select your candidate in the runoff.  Here’s why….
