FOCUS: Addressing the question of why there is a teacher shortage

By Alexander Tillman |  For years the public has been warned of an impending teacher shortage. There has been a shortage in rural and intercity schools for years, but now the problem has spread to the suburbs. Schools in higher socio-economic districts are now feeling the pinch. BRACK: The Very Thought of Schools Having  a “Red Alert” Is Scary

By Elliott Brack, editor and publisher  |  Think back to when you were in elementary school.  Isn’t it interesting that in many places, such as in Macon where I was raised, we called them grammar schools! After all, they did teach us grammar.

BRACK: More reasons to vote to keep E-SPLOST sales tax

By Elliott Brack, editor and publisher | Because the continuation of a penny sales tax for education is the only item on the county-wide ballot on next Tuesday, November 3, there is some concern that a low turnout could see the proposition fail.

We hope not. Please vote for the proposition, and also take someone to the polls with you for them to vote.

BRACK: 2 school proposals: Drop one, give study to the other

By Elliott Brack | Two items concerning Georgia’s schools were floated last week. One we oppose, while the other intrigues us.
