BRACK: Norcross, Buford homeowners benefit from leaf vacuuming

By Elliott Brack  |  Norcross and Buford residents enjoy a special “Cadillac service” three months out of the year. These two cities send around a truck to vacuum up leaves raked to the curb.  No other Gwinnett homeowners enjoy such a service. The different county waste haulers require homeowners in other areas to bag their leaves before pick up.

BRACK: Beard is longest serving city official in Gwinnett: 46 years

By Elliott Brack  |  Buford’s Philip Beard feels that he has not one, but two distinctions: he has served consecutively as a city official for 46 years, longer than anyone in Gwinnett.  He’ll start his 47th year on September 1, 2021.  All this time he has been the chairman of the City Commission, and also chairman of the Buford City Schools Board.

BRACK: Gwinnett, Buford dealing with the state for water allocation

By Elliott Brack, editor and publisher  |  With Gwinnett County getting its drinking water from Lake Lanier, any modification in policy regarding that water is significant. However, a new agreement announced this week for water supply isn’t as significant as it may have first appeared.

BRACK: It appears to me that the City of Buford is getting  a bum rap

By Elliott Brack | From what I know, I think the people of Buford are getting a bum rap.

Buford is a good place to live, lots of people know. It has a tremendous community spirit. Its people are top notch, and recognize that being a resident of Buford is something of which to be proud.

BRACK: Exciting activities in Gwinnett cities with envisioning leaders

By Elliott Brack, editor and publisher | One of the bright areas in Gwinnett in 2017 is the tremendous vision, funding and activity going on in some of our cities.

Partially funded by the cities of Gwinnett’s greater share of SPLOST funds, but augmented by growth in city revenues, there is a feeling of bustle and movement in some of Gwinnett’s cities that is nothing less than exciting.
