Emory Morsberger of Lilburn will be honored by the Council for Quality Growth (CQG) as one of its two award recipients on November 15 at the Comcast Center at The Battery Atlanta. The second winner is John Shern of Atlanta. This will be the 13th annual Community Improvement District Recognition Reception.

NEWS BRIEFS: Georgia Gwinnett bucks trend, freshman enrollment up

Georgia Gwinnett College has bucked enrollment trends for the fall semester with new student enrollment up 14 percent from fall 2021 and up 15 percent from fall 2020. The college’s total enrollment—new, returning and transfer students—is trending up a percentage point from last fall.

On Tuesday, July 26 at 11 a.m. 75 master’s degree students will graduate from PCOM Georgia, a health sciences university in Suwanee, at the Gas South District in Duluth. The graduates include 45 biomedical sciences students and 30 physician assistant students.

Through a blind taste test and vote, the Georgia Association of Water Professionals named Gwinnett County’s drinking water the Best Tasting Water in Georgia. Winning this award qualifies Gwinnett to compete in the national American Water Works Association competition against utilities across the country.

NEWS BRIEFS: 5 artists featured in spring exhibit at Norcross Gallery 

Norcross Gallery and Studios is welcoming spring with a new exhibit which focuses on five selected artists. The works of Lucy Brady, Kathy de Cano, Barbara Fraher, Jeannie Fortin and Chitra Ramanathan are spotlighted in the show, which opened on March 31 and will run until Saturday May 7.  There will be a festive reception free and open to the public on Fridays from 4 to 7 p.m.
